A New Twist on the Rain Barrel

Saw this great new product at Green Build…It is a pillow that you fill with water from your down spouts.  So while a typical Rain Barrel may hold 55 gallons, this could hold 500 or more gallons and it is either under your back porch or in the crawl space in your basement.  A small pump is activated to draw water from it to water your lawn, garden, etc.  The photo just shows a small demo version…the real one is built to custom size as big as you can fit.  Really can eliminate the need to use water outside..especially for people with big yards where there is watering restrictions.

Your local Green Irene can put you in touch with the local dealer for this cool product.

This looks so cool PJ! I can see this becoming popular.

I noticed the company is based in GA. If you live in a northern climate where there are definitely winters, would it be possible to house the pillow outside under a deck? Maybe disconnecting the pillow and blowing out the system like one would do their garden hoses? Or can the system not whether a freeze?
