The City of Seattle is leading the way to a more sustainable future, making history by becoming the first municipality to implement a ban on one time use food packaging. The ban affects the entire food service industry in Seattle—restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets, delis, and even private cafeterias. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has developed a great calculator that measures your home energy use against similar homes nationwide. The calculator only takes a few minutes to complete, though you'll need either 12 months of utility bills or an annual summary from your utility company on hand.
